Pilot Scheme on Quiet Renovation

Most people in Hong Kong live in multi-storey buildings. Noise impact generated during domestic renovation could cause negative impact to neighbours. To address such noise nuisance, a Pilot Scheme on Quiet Renovation is introduced to promote quiet renovation. This website aims to share up-to-date information about the scheme and promote the use of quiet noise renovation equipment through free rental programme. Furthermore, information on a series of seminars, site demonstrations and workshops in relation to this scheme can be found in the schedule listed below.

Background

Under the pilot scheme, quiet renovation equipment and good practices will be introduced through a series of seminars, site demonstrations, along with a free quiet renovation equipment rental scheme in order to raise awareness and promote the use of such equipment.

    • To introduce quiet renovation equipment and methods for Building Management sectors, Owners' Corporations, owners' committees, Mutual Aid Committees, Trade / Labour Associations, etc to mitigate renovation noise nuisance and collect information on the adopted house rules in Hong Kong.
    • To publish a Technical Reference Guide on quiet equipment for property management and relevant stakeholders to demonstrate the use of quiet renovation equipment for different types of renovation works.
    • To offer site demonstrations, seminars, workshops to promote quiet renovation equipment to interested parties.
    • To develop a web-based knowledge-sharing platform, providing reference on house rules, management guidelines and information about quiet renovation equipment.
